Venezuela’s Banco del Sur: The End of the IMF in Latin America?

Rodrigo de Rato, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, gave a speech to an audience of Columbia Business School students in February during which he urged Latin American countries to follow the IMF's suggestions.
In his speech, Mr. De Rato expressed his opinions about the changes taking place in Latin America. He called it “The Way Forward” and urged the countries in the region to stay on course with the path to development laid out by the IMF.
