Key Documents/ Publications Desk

All documents that are made public, with the exception of full EIAs, should be available through the Publications Desk. Contact the desk for a list of what is available. A fee is charged for some publications while others are free of charge. However, the EBRD states that it reserves the right to charge for staff time and postage costs of supplying any information.

Information Disclosure

The EBRD website provides information on its lending by country, sector and specific project. Strategies and Policies webpage also includes sectoral policies, some internal procedures, Country Strategies and since 2007 – board meeting notes.  The website is in English, German, French and Russian, however, most of the documents on the site are only available in English. Additional information and clarifications can be requested from the EBRD by using the online Information request form, by fax or mail.

Requests should be specific and clear. The EBRD will not respond to anonymous requests. The Bank must either provide requested information or deny response altogether (on justified grounds) within 20 working days or maximum of 40 days in case of a delay. EBRD’s decision to deny information can be appealed through Secretary General within 30 working days after notification of such decision.     Environmental Impact Assessment Statements are available at the Business Information Centre. You must give 24 hours notice if you want to view an EIA. The EIA cannot be taken away from the Business Information Centre and no photocopying facilities are provided.     Resident Offices

    Each of the countries in which the EBRD operates has a resident office. The resident offices keep full Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), EIA executive summaries and Project Summary Documents for projects that are located in that country as well as all publicly available publications, policies, and Environmental Procedures.     NGO & Outreach Office

    The EBRD’s NGO/Outreach Office is one of the main ways civil society organizations can engage with the Bank.

    Annual Meetings

    The Annual Meetings are another venue through which the public can engage with the EBRD. The 2006 Annual Meeting took place May 21-22 in London and the 2007 Annual Meeting will be May 20-21 in Kazan, Russia (EBRD Annual Meetings).
